Hi Slava,
Thank you for contacting Gerber Blades and your inquiry regarding the “Logo” on our products. 2012 is an exciting year for Gerber Legendary Blades as we introduce the newest Logo. This process however, is slowly being implemented into our existing Product Line as we edge further into 2012. This is largely due to “Tooling” and it’s availability for each product.
During this process, there may be products with the word “GERBER” only as we initialize the Tooling for the newest Logo. We apologize in advance for any confusion and/or inconvenience.
Please keep in mind that many retailers will continue to sell through their existing inventory with the older Logo prior to releasing the newest Logo on the existing Product Line. We’re hopeful to have the entire Product Line updated by 2013.
In regards to authenticity, your knife is in fact a genuine Guardian Backup, it is simply one that was made without a Logo.
